Very nice and handy device to determine the breakdown voltage (BRV) of semiconductors, VDRs and such stuff. It comes without any manual. but use is quite straightforward: only connect the seiconductor union to be tested in reverse polarity, minimun current & voltage, and start increasing voltage slowly until display numbers stops increasing with voltage knob rotation. In the photo you can see a double diode with a BRV of 190 V. The other diode aside is a high voltage special one for microwave ovens with a BRV of 5 Kv, so it's out of range for measurement (voltage in mine reaches a maximun of 2720 V). Anyhow, a recommendable devide to have in the lab. Simple, but effective and a nice to have item. It came fully charged, so I was able to test it inmediately. Nice appearance, it has arrived with battery already charged. I have already tested successfully a bunch of zener diodes i have had for a lot of year in a drawer. Obviously it is necessary having some electronics knowledge and knowing what are you doing. Unfortunately, it comes without any documentation.
