Chucky Hi Don, It's not USB at all, just a standard looking barrel connector. The thing charges pretty quickly, runs for ages on a single charge (depletes less than 10% when used almost continuously for half an hour), and holds the charge for weeks without loss. I should also add that the blades are fairly rubbish, and even when new tend to grind rather than cut. After four (slow) haircuts, the blades were scrap and didn't cut at all. I'd save your cash and do what I belatedly did, buy a Wahl cordless set of clippers from Argos at £19.99 - these were quiet and efficient. What a revelation!
