The Astrolux S43S is a beautiful flashlight especially with the copper head. It is rather heavy but with all that copper in the head the runtime and cooling is improved. With a full battery the head gets hot quickly and the brightness steps down already after a few seconds. I like this design better than the previous models even though it could be silver or colorful. What should be improved is the efficiency of the optic that seems to swallow a lot of light. The Nichia 219C leds have a nice rosy tint with 90 CRI and excellent color rendering. The battery tubes are interchangeable with the S41 and the S42. The S43S is small with the 18350 tube but bigger than other 18350 flashlights. There is no coating on the copper head so it will get dark with use. Personally I would have preferred a transparent coating as old copper looks ugly. The cover for the internal charging board fits tightly and won't come of unless you want it.

Great looking light! Works great, ran it for about 2hours on midpower. light got hot but no issues with heat management running it in 18650 battery. Go ahead and buy one.

Very good light! Brighter than I thought. The copper really does its cooling job well! I use it with a 18650 to get all the power out of it. User interface is just perfect!
