I purchased this set of needles for a class on magnetic compass design. The needles will be heated in a propane flame until red hot, held over a rare earth magnet until cool, then the "North" end shall be painted dark blue with a drop of nail polish. The compass will be sealed in a shot glass with alcohol, a compass rose etched on top of a small circlet of acetate plastic that is silicone glued to the shot glass. Shall post images as available.
