Q: Does it send a code for open and another one for close ?

Asked by feiticeir0 on 2021-07-09 11:32:10

chimeranzl I hope so as I ordered a few of these and still waiting for them to arrive. I bought them based on a web site that recommended them and said that yes they do both open and close. I also have the slightly smaller more rectangle shaped Digoo sensors and they only send on open and also have a rolling code so can’t use with 3rd party firmware.

Q: Can a back up 12V battery be connected?

Asked by Milton Foyn on 2018-09-28 05:24:53

chimeranzl No, not with this particular model. But you could connect a small UPS, that’s what I do as I use it to power 12V Roller blinds throughout the house

chimeranzl Just be careful that even with Tasmota, Its not guaranteed to work with all devices. As stated above it’s really quite worthless until you flash with Tasmota (on ESP chip) and Portisch (on RF chip) with these it makes it significantly more powerful and suited to plenty of open source home automation solutions that specifically use MQTT. However if the device you’re trying to control is “‘more secure” (generally more expensive kit like Somfy) then it’s likely to use rolling codes, meaning the data sent will change each time in which case you can’t integrate with your home automation software. Most cheaper RF devices the manufacturer won’t bother implementing rolling codes though.
