LED is not a bulb “size”. Just because something is the size of an LED that doesn’t make it an LED. The Banggood listing says: “HO OO Scale 5Pcs 6V DIY Model LED Garden Light Lamp Street Lamppost “. It is absolutely NOT an LED. It is a “grain-of-rice” non-polar incandescent bulb. Incandescent bulbs are electrical devices while LEDs are electronic semiconductors and work on lower voltages and lower current levels. The description says “Use: Long wire connected to positive pole, short wire connected to negative pole”. Incandescent bulbs are not polar; so they don’t have a positive pole (anode) and a negative pole (cathode) as LEDs and other diodes do have. These lamps merely have two different kinds of wire: one bare for ground, one insulated for hot, and which could be connected randomly to either “pole” of the bulb with out making any kind of difference at all. These will last about 1/10th as long as an LED would and will not work with many devices designed for use with LEDs. I have looked through several of these different coloured “HO OO Scale 5Pcs 6V DIY Model LED Garden Light Lamp Street Lamppost” I received and they are ALL just incandescents. It is going to take me hours to refit all these lamps with actual LEDs and resistors (both of which I will have to pay for on top of what I already paid, thus doubling the price). The miniature plastic replica lamp design is nice in itself, so if incandescents are OK for you, OR you are knowledgeable enough to wire in the LEDs, each with its very own current limiting resistor, the products are reasonably realistic. In any case I will be more cautious about the various scale model purchases I make here as mine Do have to be LEDs. The solution to the product offering is to replace the word “LED” with “incandescent” everywhere in the product listings for ALL the “HO OO Scale 5Pcs 6V DIY Model LED Garden Light Lamp Street Lamppost” whatever the colour.
