These are really great, IF you understand what you're getting. Most shields that work with the Arduino Uno won't work with it, and some will actually damage it, because the I/O pins are somewhat different. But it's very convenient to have an ESP8266 in the same form factor, and Wemos makes quality stuff. Highly recommended.

A couple of the 30 I bought had bent pins because the packaging wasn't protective. But the rest look just as good to me as the ones I paid about 5 times as much for from "a big-name distributor". And the ones I've used have worked fine. An excellent deal.

You can see from the illustrations that the pads don't line up properly with the holes. That causes a problem someone else has already pointed out: making the pads more likely to lift when being soldered. I bought these because I wanted some insulating material with predrilled holes. They make it easier to make mounting bases for Arduinos and other such boards to protect them from accidental short-circuits. These are a good source for that, since I live far from cities where it's easy to get materials like plastic sheeting. But I doubt I'll actually build any circuits on them.

These are really great for making small WiFi gadgets. I have remote sensors, and little status displays using the OLED shield, all over the place.

Handy for reducing clutter. I often have a couple or three USB-powered projects going at once, and this lets me run two off the same power supply.

Even better than expected: the ones in the pictures had hand-written markings on the tape, but the ones I got had big clear machine-printed ones. No squinting with a magnifier to try to pick out the right value, like with some assortments. As you can see in the pictures, some have imperfect color banding. But it's still quite readable. If I could give it 4.5 stars for appearance, I would, but it's not bad enough to knock it down to a 4.

Q: Hookup instructions are wrong. (As of 2019-02-27) The labels on the picture have the clock and data switched. The ones in the text have Vcc and ground switched, and will kill the board if you follow them. The correct sequence (looking at the back, with the connectors at the top) is: SCK SDA GND Vcc. The ones I got did work at 3V3, with reduced brightness, but this is supposed to be used at 5V. Also, the interface is not I2C. You need to use a driver designed for the TM1640. I submitted a review with more info a week ago, but it was never published. And now the system won't let me write a new one.

Much nicer than the simple single and double bases: the extra holes and power buses also make them a better version of the prototype shield.

Well made. Good if you want to mount a sensor, or a few switches/LEDs separate from the main project. Can handle a complete small project with something like a D1 mini or mini/micro Arduino. The curved top looks nicer than the usual hobby project box, but could be a problem if you want to mount something like a small LCD or OLED display: it's enough to create gaps between the lid and the flat display.

Like the M3 spacers, the finish is not quite as nice as the high-priced competition, but they work just as well. Unlike their big brothers, though, you don't get lots of screws and nuts in the set. Make sure you buy more if you're going to use lots of the spacers.

This is the second one of these I've bought. I liked the first pair so much that I got another so I don't have to carry one back and forth between workbenches. Unlike some cheap cutters, the jaws meet very precisely: hold them up to a light, and there are no visible gaps at all.

Usually, when you buy these inexpensive shields, they're only plated with tin. But these are plated with what appears to be gold.

Very good quality, and so cheap you can use them instead of jumpers: no need to worry about getting wires out of sequence if you're going to repeat a build later. Just solder them to a proto shield, and next time you'll know they're right.

These are a good size for projects with small SBCs like the Arduino or the Wemos D1 ESP8266 modules. Well made, with good fit and finish. The curve of the top looks nice plain, but it's significant enough to be a problem if your project includes a display or keyboard. If it doesn't, though, this is definitely better looking that the usual DIY enclosures.

These are not quite as smoothly finished as the ones you pay 5 times as much for. But they WORK just as well for me. These are NOT "factory rejects" or "junk": they're well-made, but just not as pretty. I'm pleased enough that I've already ordered another set of these, and a set of the M2 ones.
