Iztok a This device comes in two types: one is working on 5V, the second on 12V. If you don't know what device you order and get the simpliest way to know what supply you need is to connect supply to 5V first. If everything works, it's 5V. If device produce "bip-bip" every 10 seconds or so, that means device is 12V and "beeps" signalising voltage is under demand of device. Then connect device to 12V. If you are experience in electronics, observe PCB and if there in left corner bottom is 7805 regulator, device is 12V.
