Q: can I use it in a homemade lathe, to speed control? it's a 1 hp triphasic motor.

pwijman Itis possible. you need to make changes in your motor. wiring in triangle, remove the capacitor.

pwijman Thereis no need to reduce rhe point under 2mm. freehand scharping is possible but you have to be verry skild.

pwijman Itis possible, motorwiring schould be placed in triangle,remove the capacitor.
