My wife already had the Honor Band 4 and i had the Mi Band 3 (among others). The Honor Band 5 has some (minor for some, more important for others) improvements over Honor Band 4 and the most obvious is the SpO2 measurment and the variaty in watchfaces (also the screen is supposed to be better although i dont notice that much of a difference) I wont get to the positive points for this band since most people will repeat them over and over. The battery is very good and i wont compare it to mi band since this band boasts a lot more options and still manages to stay alive for around 10 days with everything turned on or 2+ weeks with same functionalities as mi band 4 (mi band lasts longer though) This smartband (and also Honor Band 4 and almost every Huawei and Honor band) has some minor issues that could bother some like they bother me. 1) You cant use smart unlock on your phone!!! Thats simply because after you pair the band it doesnt show up on the bluetooth devices list anymore. I could use mi band 3 for smart unlocking my phone but NOT Honor band 4 and that is a common issue with every honor/huawei band. 2) (Thats more of a Huawei Health issue) you cant have the Huawei Health application use ONLY the band for counting steps!!! It uses both your phone (if it has pedometer like mine) and Band and "intelligently" combines the two numbers.. That sounds OK but what if i give the phone to a friend or to my wife to make a call or simply have a phone that has a pedometer that overcounts steps (like my Samsung s9+)? That is a big issue and the result is having a lot more steps than mi band for the same daily activities. 3) (Also probably a Huawei Health Issue). Yes SpO2 (manually) measurment through watch is enabled for international version through the latest firmware BUT you cant keep the measurments in the Health app!! If you go to the stress tab it says that you dont have a supported device. Also dont think is used automatically for better sleep results etc.

Its not without bugs or defects. For example i had a hard time to connect it to my wifi network. At one point it was connected but the system showed offline so i had to add it again. After a power failure the hosa never got an IP (0.0.0.0) so i had to restart my router. That will be an issue if i am away and something like this happens!!! There are important things missing, like an audio signal when the system starts to countdown (for example every 5 seconds or at least one time) in order to hear it and remember to unlock it before it starts calling people by mistake. You cant change the sound, no firmware update possibility and it would be great if Hosa was acting as a gateway to other smart devices and not only the few security sensors, for example, temparature/humidity meters, switches etc like the xiaomi gateway and MOST importantly the digoo cameras! I find it absurd that you cant have a "smart" digoo camera to connect with the hosa system and for example start recording automatically when the alarm is on (like the Xiaomi system). Also the keyboard is bad... not responsive and you always have to pres the V button for everything... when you just give the pin the alarm should stop! instead, you have to press any button to wake the panel THEN you have to give the pin (with bad keyboard responsiveness) and THEN you have to press V.. there is no way to make it on time! Other than that its an OK alarm system for its price, the sensors work great, it has alarm zones that work well (although difficult to set and only through the android app) and its a pitty that it misses all those things since with a few additions and fixes it would be a great alarm system.
