Q: can I wire this terminal with a power of 110volts?

Asked by siggl01 on 2022-02-17 10:13:54

northoftheborder One of the pictures on the website shows the case which gives the information 120v to 240v +- 10% 50HZ or 60HZ together with an almost believable CE mark.

Q: How long does the batteries on these last?

Asked by Lefebvrevdw on 2021-08-13 04:27:49

northoftheborder I have had mine installed for several months in regular use and am still using the battery supplied. This is simply sending a short signal burst each time the buttons are activated. There is no active receiver so no standby current being used. I should imagine that the battery life could extend to many months in normal use.

Q: does it works with Alexa?

Asked by Jomapife on 2021-03-08 04:04:10

northoftheborder If you have a zigbee bridge then it can connect to Alexa. You can then see the temperature and humidity on the app. You can also ask Alexa for the temperature of your device but at present it will not report the humidity. You may therefore be able to use the temperature in an Alexa routine but I haven't tried it.

Q: Can I place this device outdoor? is it waterproof?

Asked by bernardcini on 2021-08-05 02:15:38

northoftheborder I do not think that it is designed to be waterproof however it depends where you wish to place it. You should be ok if you place it within a Stephenson Screen type of enclosure or even under the eves of a roof, but not where it would be directly exposed to rainfall.

northoftheborder It depends on positioning. Cats may roam around furniture, dogs tend to stay on the ground. There is also no sensitivity adjustment on this unit.

Q: Can I add a wireless switch to it (sonoff or other)?if yes wich one?

Asked by BG504041101 on 2021-01-26 01:53:46

northoftheborder You could use the Sonoff SNZB-01 but as that is a Zigbee switch you would also need a Zigbee bridge. You could also use a Sonoff TX series wall switch which is a wifi unit, no bridge would be required.

northoftheborder This is really a basic issue of using voice control with any apps as you are overriding any security functions. One possible solution would be to name your garage door as something more obscure, for example Hermione or Zaphod, Alexa doesn't mind what is called. You could also ensure that your Echo device can not hear someone outside, or they could cause havoc with your intelligent systems inside and make them, or you, seem less smart. It is somewhat similar to having a highly secure door lock but leaving a key under the door mat.
