Q: Is this motor suitable for a Rock Crawler?

Asked by Ron1532 on 2020-08-02 12:51:15

BertyvN Dont mind Cody's answer, think he had a few too many drinks when he answered Crawlers tend to start up smoother with a sensored ESC and motor combo, this motor is sensorless but will work with a AM32 128kb or BLheli Dshot1200 software ESC.

Q: Can i put this on a stock ftx kanyon xl 1:10? its safe?

Asked by Bogdandormeo on 2022-06-11 14:32:06

BertyvN Yes, but gear it slow. This motor does not have a internal fan like other sealed can 550 motors. Set the timing to 0° as it comes with 10° timing from factory. Motor is very smooth but esc has limited settings like hobbywing 1060, also not waterproof as claimed.

BertyvN It doesnt matter what length it is, it falls in the 3660 bracket, much more power than a 3650. Mine last 26mths with lot of offroad abuse including beach, mud wet grass and high speed pulls from a dig. Ran it on 3S 5Ah 45C batt with 120A 1:8 ESC.

Q: How waterproof is it

Asked by dimishadjidemet on 2020-01-15 09:49:04

BertyvN i have had mine submerged plenty of times and have had no problems. But do open the servo to double check all O-rings and silicon grease all joints as a precaution.
