I have already assembled the housing kit for the XYS3606 switched power supply module. All perfect, the various components have been fitting with great precision.
PROS. The assembled set allows to obtain a high performance source in an extremely compact volume, it can be placed anywhere because it takes up very little space. All the pieces and materials look of quality and excellent finishes, great presentation. It has 2 charging outputs, one USB and another type C, both with a display that indicates alternately the voltage and the intensity of the port. Note that the USB output, when it has no charge connected, marks the interior ambient temperature of the housing. This allows the temperature increase to be controlled.
CONTRAS. The connecting cables between the XYS3606 power module and the motherboard are extremely rigid. And since the design achieves a very compact set the space to carry these cables from one to the other component forces to force a lot of these cables that being so rigid can force the connection clemas with the possibility of producing a false contact. Therefore it is necessary to bend and shape the cables to position them in front of each of the two connectors. I would recommend using flexible silicone cables, such as those used in RC modeling.
The housing is completely closed except for fan openings, terminals, switch, load outputs and main module. There is an opening for the suction fan but there is none for outside air intake. In my tests at room temperature of 23oC I read 58.8oC in the main power module according to the thermometer (not checked) display. Charging conditions were 20V charged to 4.95A, nearly 100W.
Another little detail. The base has 4 threaded holes but no leg or disc is supplied to allow lower ventilation.
Except for details, everything's perfect.
