I bought 4 TEC1-12708 Peltier Plate. From spec, they suppose to take roughly 8A from a 12V source. So that should be a roughly 100W power plate. But I used a 12V power supply (measured at 12.5V loaded) and these Peltier plate only drew about 4.2A, which is just half of what was advertised. Still useable but pretty disappointed with the underrated performance.
Uses a bit more juice than the 12706 Peltiers... makes things plenty cold. Perfect to make a small coolerbox (maybe 40cmx40cmx40cm on the inside) Hotside needs a big heatsink and active fan to keep the hotside cool (the cooler the hotside... the colder the cool side) Quality of product is very nice and arrived very speedily. The leads are long enough for general use and can be easily extended if longer leads are needed. Good price for a quality product. Worth the buy.
Just received this chip. Attached to cpu heatsink, powered to 12v got down to 19.8 degrees F. Was pulling about 2.3 amps.
