I read the negative feedback so I was a little daunted. I have just received the shield and after setting a couple of jumpers and wiring to a Uno sent and received SMS no problem. THE REVIEWS ARE TOTALY WRONG. Works very good product. Peter
Although I have not tested all the functionalities, I got the shield to make a call, so I assume that the rest of the functions also work. So long story short, I am very happy with this shield. I found it a bit hard to start with though: After making sure the shield can connect to a network (led blinking with about 1 sec interval) I was not able to use the standard arduino libraries (GSM and GSMtiny) to send an sms/tekst or make a call. It was confusing how to use the jumpers etc. BUT, this item comes with a very usefull and elaborate manual. You can find ik in the questions section below or go here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0BxSj_zgPes0yNGQwVTBsZ3RvbWM/view Banggood, maybe it is a good idea to make a reference to this link in the main item page, just so people can find it quicker.
Devo ancora provarla , vi invio il link della documentazione https://www.dropbox.com/s/jbulraa9x81tx8i/Arduino%20GPRS%20Shield.doc?dl=0
Works perfect. Writing a working sketch in arduino is a little bit more difficult because libraries found online doesn't work with this module. You must make your own library or sketch from beginning.
The SIM module is good, to send sms and to call. :)
I’ve been unable to make it work when it is directly plugged on my UNO clone. However it works perfectly when I use the Rx, Tx and Gnd pins from the UART under the Status and NetLight LEDs (as shown in picture). For my project it’s okay, but could be a problem if you want the shield to be stacked. In addition it’s clearly not brand new... but hey, at this price point I can’t complain since it’s working!
Its seems all ok. Just a litle mess in one solder component. Good produt
the DC-DC converter MIC29302WU on the board has 5 pins and uses about 7mA in standby. I cut all traces to pin 1 and 2 and connected pin 2 to RAW and pin 1 to an unused port. so i can shut down the DC-DC converter completely. HIGH on pin1: MIC29302WU working LOW on pin1: MIC29302WU shut down, no current use! best wishes from austria
Like on the description, delivery was fast, i am happy about it. I did not yet try it. Just a pity there is not the male pins to plug the shield directly on the arduino
Well it came very fast, like 7-8 working days. (location Greece) The package was in a good condition and the shield itself also. I havent tested it yet but I dont see any damage.
