I had fun putting this together! The quality of the PCB is good. I would have preferred a MIL-spec IC socket rather than the cheap type that was included. Assembly was very easy. Note that the leads on the transistors need to be carefully bent to fit the PCB, and such that they sit lower than the LCD mounting posts. If you are using the injection-molded case (available separately) it ships with two 7-way sockets that need to be soldered in place of the ZIF socket in order to raise the socket to the correct height to clear the case! If using the case the rotary encoder shaft will protrude just the correct amount to accept the included knob, and the supplied nut will not be used at all.
