Nice little board. Documentation is very light so you'll need to Google for examples to get the sd card working etc. Also the board would not flash the first time with an sd card inserted (maybe the default program shipped with the board?) so flash something first if you have this issue. Sd card stability also seems to be an issue with card init failing on reset. This can be solved by trying to init the card in a loop

With the extra memory these run Micro-python much better. The on-board switch and reset buttons are convenient too. These boards are good quality and fully match the details on the LILYGo wiki.

This is a slick board, I purchased it with the intention of building a hand held emulator to play Nintendo games. I had all the parts and software together, and was proceeding with an upgrade to the built in RAM from 4 meg to 12 meg so I could store more data. I had played with the board, and found it to be a very quick and highly functional with the 4 meg, in fact in hid sight, I do wish I had just left it alone because I could come up with dozens of other projects where this would have been perfect, despite the fact the antenna had been crushed on it's way from China to South Dakota. So it was, I dragged out my soldering iron and removed the memory chip, well I thought it was the memory chip, sadly I pulled the wrong chip off the board, leaving it disabled and a simple monument to my inattention while working on it. I may well order another, since I purchased 10 memory chips for the upgrade, but right now my pocket book is so empty there is an echo when I open it up. Overall this is indeed a great board, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone thinking of building a project where the built in TF card and battery charging circuit would be a desired feature. I did check the distance on the transmission, and after straightening out the antenna, I was able to get well over a city block before dropping any data, this through a couple walls on my home and, of course some trees and such. This unit does add a lot to the standard ESP32 board!
