This is a very nice micro servo. Its strength and speed vs weight is unparalleled by any other micro servo I've found. The output shaft is free to turn 360 degrees but the controller will only rotate it about +/- 50 degrees. I was hoping it would achieve +/- 90 to be used on a robot. I connected it to an Arduino and used the writeMicroseconds command to try out of range values and it still only turns +/- 50 degrees. I disassembled one to check the construction quality. All the gears are metal and there are two ball bearings supporting the output shaft. The potentiometer was 1800 ohms with a 2.5V reference voltage and over 180 deg of useable rotation. In theory this digital servo should be programmable to modify the angular limits but I couldn't find any documentation. There are 4 SOT23 transistors on the circuit board that appear to be a full discrete H-Bridge driving the motor. The control horns felt a little loose and the spline would occasionally slip if stalled. The midsection of the housing does appear to be made of some kind of metal. I was able to solvent weld a small piece of ABS to the bottom plate using acetone so the top and bottom plates are likely made of ABS. I really like this servo and would buy many more if there was a way to increase the rotation angle.

  • bektorkhan You could put a resistor on each end off the potentiometer, then it would think its not moving as much, as it does!Try 1000 ohm on each side, (not on the slider). Will void warranty though, be careful not to let it hit mechanical endpoints, then the motor or H-bridge will burn!!

  • Alasdairx I did same mod for increased panning angle with my tracker, some experimentation was required because at 1k it went way around and sat there jittering unable to return, I used micro smd resistors on pot legs to physically fit I think from memory 820ohms got me about 160deg, but I had several attempts before a good range was reached.
