This stand is almost perfect for cutting threads with a drill tap bit. It has some play around the elbow and isnt precise enough for drilling,but this is an advantage for tapping as it self-aligns. I wish the shank was a standard 6.35mm hex size so I could put it directly into an impact driver. For now I use a socket driver bit,which increases the height and causes a bit more wobble. The included clamp works for drilling downwards but not sideways. Long workpieces like aluminium extrusions are easier to clamp to a table-top than to suspend over the edge with perfect alignment,so a 90° clamp will be a great improvement. This is a non-issue if the table has a square leg near the edge,but none of my workshop tables are like that.
