Just received my FT009 in green today , received order perfectly intact, plugged it in adaptor came with package and after 3 hrs got the green light. wow I was breathless only had the pool to practice and don't think I ever got it up to full speed she carves and responds brilliantly, flipped a couple of times and flip back over was easy to do, reverse tail stands are easy, and the acceleration is great. Absolutely no water got in the hull, cannot wait until tomorrow when I release her in larger waters highly recommended

I want my FT009 to go even FASTER.I have heard of a upgraded motor,a larger propeller and a more powerful and longer lasting battery, but so far cannot find out about it?Any ideas?

Got this boat a few weeks ago to run with my Granddaughter. Its just fast enough for her to be able to control it in a large open area, and she loves the challenge of driving it around the marina where we go in the summer. The ten minute run times are just enough to keep her occupied, but I bought 2 extra batteries to keep the action going longer. I notice several reviewers asking for more power for this boat, but I don't think that is a good idea, since the boat was designed for the power train it has. Putting in a more powerful brushless motor will eliminate the self righting characteristics of the boat, and will probably alter the handling as well. I wanted a little more powerful boat for myself, so I bought the Joysway Super Mono X, and I can't wait to try that one out.

I don't see how the FT009 could be beaten in it's role as a value for money, budget class, medium sized, RC speedboat that requires only six AA batteries for the Tx before heading for the lake (I also sucessfully run mine on the river Thames near Hampton Court - but a large flowing river means a certain loss if you let the battery fully deplete) . . the design of the secondary inner cover ensures that is stays as dry internally as model speedboats can stay dry internally . . the Rx/ESC is probably the weakest component and may fail without TLC, and the Tx is unsophisticated but entirely adequate (eg. a change to the rudder throw can only be done mechanically, not electronically, but that is very easily done anyway) . . the moulded plastic components are as good (if not better) than can be expected from a budget class RC model (I refuse to call these boats 'toy class', even though I have also just spent $440 on another RC speedboat, since all types and all price levels are still 'RC model boats', not toys - a toy is what a child pulls along on a piece of string) . . While testing my newest FT009 at the weekend I was a bit too late reducing speed when returning to the bank (which is concrete) . . the Rx/ESC unit did not like being tapped against the concrete and stopped working (needs TLC remember) . . so I've mounted a SkyFly radio receiver and a separate 125amp ESC (don't laugh) on the battery tray and fitted the battery in a custom made holder lengthways in the nose - just in front of the motor . . my original FT009 has the same set-up because the 2200mah 40c lipo's I use in this are 104mm long and won't fit in sideways . . I was also also running this original boat on that day and should mention that due to using these long heavy batteries in the 'pointy end' it floats slightly nose down and doesn't look ideal when just floating . . however, it correspondingly has a flatter attitude when planing - and at top speed carves through the lake wind ripples very smoothly, whereas the new boat (with the stock battery at the rear and the Rx/ESC unit in the nose) hippity-hopped it's way across the lake ripples . . but this difference may also have been partly due to the heavier overall weight of my original FT009 . . I did not gain as much speed as I anticipated by using the li-po batteries (as against the stock li-ion battery) since any li-po speed gain was probably partly countered by the additional weight, however, my main aim was to increase running time, not particularly the speed . . being rather pedantic I move my watercooling intake from the bottom of the transom to the forced water 'behind' the propeller (as is usual) but I'm not

It is a fine boat. The motor is a fast 540 class. The engine is water-cooled. The boat is watertight and shall have no water inside. The radio is 100/150 range. The boat is very stable and the controls respond very well. If the boat flips over speeding and gets back straight. It is a very funny boat...

Tres beau bateau d'une 40taine de cm. Rapide mais l'autonomie n’excède pas 5-6 minutes.. Prévoir l'achat d'1 ou 2 batteries supplémentaires pour prolonger le plaisir!

Recommend this one. This boat is the best you can get in its price class. My son loves it (and me too). I recommend though buying a second battery (there is also a 2200 version around)... it can go with the standard battery (1500mah) for about 5 to 10 min. only. Also the safety mechanism (water-contact) can fail sometimes, but is easy to fix (you can even find youtube video on how to do this).
