This ESP32-CAM works well, I have purchased one before from an other seller and it didn't work. I suspected the camera to be the wrong model. So, I have swap the cameras with my previous ESP32 and everything works. Therefore my suspicions are confirmed the camera was the culprit. Also, make sure that you make very good wire connections. Neither of my modules worked very well with my breadboard; I had to wire my FTDI, USB to serial converter, directly to the module , power and all worked great.
