The angle selector locks in every 5 degrees using a spring-loaded ball and a small recess. Adjusting to angles between the dedicated 5-degree steps takes a bit of fiddling, but that’s not something you need very often anyway. One of the clamps was mounted the wrong way around when it arrived, so at first I thought it didn’t fit the Makita guide rail. After turning it the right way, everything fit perfectly.
