This kit looks so promising and it was fun to assemble. The display is nice but in the end it was just a bunch of nonfunctional parts for these reasons: 1) The atmel mpu came blank apparently with no program in it. That takes the steam out of things. 2) The inductor supplied with the kit is 100mF instead of the clearly marked 100uH expected by the circuit. I had to wind my own replacement as you can see in the images I’ve posted. 3) The switches have no button caps that you’d expect to receive based on the product pictures. Pressing those bare nubs is a literal pain. Of course it’s possible that I’ve made a mistake in assembly but I don’t think so. I made a test rig for the display using an atmega2560 and it worked fine. The symptoms all say the display isn’t being talked to probably because of a brain dead mpu. Still the parts alone may be worth close to the price I paid?
