This little buddy is great. 1x14500 but throws great - at start I measured 25 000lux/1m. Then fades rapidly, but that's physics - small body and 3A on LED means LOTS of heat and driver decreases the current, so that LED won't get hurt. Body build quality is really fine, driver works great (lots of functions, but smart organised), has nice clicky serving as a beacon (if You want to "normally" turn off the flashlight without glowing switch - just unscrew the end cap by 1/2 turn). Reflector seems identical to Manker T01 (but Manker is smaller and more pocket-friendly). It's one of my favourite flashlights and I've got like 25 of them - I really do recommend this fella to anyone who wants throw-out-of-the-pocket. Just be sure to use some high current 14500. And get the 3B version ;)

Powerful, very well finished flashlight, operate the switch is pleasant (maybe a very little bit hard) and his blue backlight rocks so much, the software is not so complicated it looks like and is intuitive. I used a digital lab power supply to test it because the battery I bought the same day is not yet arrived and at maximum brigthness the led drains 1,5A !!! (@3.7v) Theoricaly a great 750mAh battery can work 30minutes (but I can prove this without battery) that's honnest i think. 3B color is very white, not yellow dont be afraid.

Fantastic little light. In quality it easily compares to many top brands like fenix and zebralight. 14500's should not be longer than 50mm as it squash the spring. My protected nitecore 14500 li-ion bat (52.5mm) squash the spring leaving it half damaged.... go for unprotected IMR 14500 batteries which are shorter. The pocket clip is to narrow to slide on a pocket in a pair of jeans... so its not super usefull. I will try to bend it into a proper shape. Other than that its a fantastic far throwing light!

Compact bright torch, very high quality finish. The price is pretty much spot on, around USD35 it is great value. Only drawback is that it cannot run on normal Alkaline AA cells, if it could it would make this an unsurpassed EDC torch to chuck in your car etc.

The paper box looks too far from "new"(3pcs of label was put on each other). Lens was dirty. Anyway still good flashlight by its size.

The Astrolux S3 is very good. Be sure that you have some high drain 14500 batteries at home. On the highest level, it needs a lot of power. I really like the interface and the fact that you can configure a lot of stuff. You can even configure a simple mode (3 levels, maximum output half) if you hand the flashlight to someone not experienced. I can recommend it.

The S3 is a great 14500 light. It has a very nice form factor and the Illuminated tailcap makes it easy to find in the dark.
