It's a big capacitor that doesn't lose power. It loads very quickly (with an 5v 500mA alimentation he got > 4.5v in ~25sec) and became a little hot after that. Very good component.

A supercapacitor for small loads that work at 5V. A low-consumption real-time clock or a low-consumption microcontroller. Very small, like a litium battery.

All five super capacitors connected in parallel can power an Arduino Uno for almost 30 minutes. I could also let a single LED light up for over a week... :) Then just recharge for a few seconds and you're off.
