What to do with broken laptop batteries?....this little dc/dc converter is the perfect option to build your own power bank and recycle these batteries

Very good product and is as described. The size is very small, and can have a big variety of exploitations (see examples in other reviews). On the down side I only regret the fact that the LED light is ALWAYS ON, if left unused and untenanted for several days can drain all the power from the batteries.

Those 5 boards are handy, although one came with a broken inductor (must have been before shipping since it was well packed with other stuff). I chose these ones because their voltage can be changed by replacing one or two resistors (see LTC3426 datasheet for that) They can do 2.5 to 5.5V range, and are a complement to SKU086291 that can do up to 12v, but at the expense of a higher min input voltage. They also have an Enable pin (/shdn) to control the booster using pin 4 of the LTC3426 chip. Be aware that it does not on/off the output voltage : when the booster is off, the output voltage is the same as the input voltage, minus the drop from the diode.

When using a 3V project wit batteries the batteries can deplete to a level that upsets the LDO Very Quickly if there are sensors etc. attached to the 3V line. Use this to greatly improve battery life and also make a power bank as a side effect......NiCad NiMH Lithium, non-rechargeable take your pick..... The perfect solution to extend the battery life in these...... http://www.banggood.com/ESP8266-Serial-WIFI-Stable-Version-Module-Board-Kit-IO-Interface-p-980654.html Just cut the Red and Black wires and solder this between the battery pack and the board.......

This has the LTC3426 or similar controller. Almost looks like the reference design for it, except the output inductor may be undersized. It works though. USB connector can be removed to reduce weight and size. Output voltage can be changed by referring to the controller datasheet.

Afrer removed USB connector - perfect unit to uprise voltage from 2x AA to 5V (for adruino). Good poroduct with good price. Without removing - good enought as backup for cell phone ;-)
