These ws2812 LEDs are a lot of fun, but I have some ideas into how to use them in a more serious context than just "light shows". I am currently working on a C++ driver library for them, so I've been picking up a few WS2812s for experimentation and test purposes. I'll release the library in due course. I am happy to recommend these items.
